DESE Literacy Summit 2025
Please plan to join Missouri’s Literacy Team and your K-12 colleagues from around Missouri on June 30, and July 1, 2025, at The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark for our 2025 Literacy Summit, “Every Teacher is a Literacy Teacher.” The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) encourages educators from all content areas to attend! DESE will provide two days of high-quality professional development sessions delivered by literacy experts, along with breakfasts, and lunches at no cost to participants. Both days will include sessions for K-12 educators.

DESE's Literacy Team is excited to announce Dr. Carol Tolman as the 2025 Literacy Summit Keynote Speaker!
Dr. Tolman draws on more than 25 years of experience in public school systems. She is co-author and lead trainer of LETRS, 3rd edition. In addition to serving as the keynote speaker, Dr. Tolman will present one breakout session for grades K-5 educators and one breakout session for grades 6-12 educators.
